I am called to help individuals restore their mind and move from a state of being numb, confused, and overwhelmed to a life of pure bliss. I use the lens of faith, hope, strength, and resiliency along with an integrative therapeutic approach.
Shantelle Jacobs, M.Ed., LPC-S is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Board Approved Supervisor, Mindset Coach, and former Psychology Adjunct Professor with over 22 years of experience in behavioral health. She is the Founder and Owner of Pure Mind Counseling & Wellness in Baton Rouge, where she specializes in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, and spiritual concerns. As a licensed therapist, she provided training to over 2,800 mental health professionals and presented at local, national, and international conferences and events.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Jacobs has been recognized for her leadership and service. She served on Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome’s Behavioral Health Taskforce and the Community Health Needs Assessment Workgroup for East Baton Rouge Parish, helping drive community-based mental health initiatives. Selected through the Louisiana Department of Health - Louisiana ACE Educator Program, she provided statewide education on adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), trauma, and resilience, reaching diverse communities across Louisiana. Early in her career, she was selected to contribute to disaster recovery efforts through Project FOCUS with the University of California–Los Angeles (UCLA) and the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, providing resiliency training, trauma-informed interventions, and family support for communities impacted by Hurricane Katrina.
In addition to her clinical and community work, Mrs. Jacobs is an active member of the Hammond-Northshore Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., where she has served as Chaplain, Teen Sponsor Chair, and Election Chair. In 2025, she was honored with a nomination for the Distinguished Mother Award for her outstanding leadership and dedication to youth and family empowerment.
Her passion for mental health advocacy was recognized in 2024 when she was invited to attend The State of Mental Health in America briefing at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., alongside national leaders and mental health advocates.
Through therapy, supervision, public speaking, and advocacy, Mrs. Jacobs remains committed to promoting peace, faith, and mental wellness—empowering individuals and organizations to shift their mindsets toward healing, growth, and resilience.
